Thursday, September 8th, Jamie Crooks will be coming to LGA to discuss our Emoji Fundraiser. Middle and High School will both be on an Assembly schedule and will report to the Multipurpose Room to learn about the high quality cookie dough and the LGA Tumblers we will have for sale.
The fundraiser is simple – students sell 3 tubs of cookie dough or 3 tumblers, and they will earn an Emoji. Emojis are linked to prizes, from candy to school swag to other creative items.
After School Movie
On Friday, September 16th, we will be hosting the first after school movie night of this year. This event will be from 4-6:30 pm in the Multipurpose room. We have many surprises planned for this evening and we promise it will be a night you won’t want to miss. Look out for a meal deal, VIP section, and more! This month’s featured film will be: Captain America: Civil War!
Look for posters around campus this week for more details and announcements during advisory.
Club rush is September 23rd! We already have had more club petitions this year than ever before – and we want to get the kids linked up with school culture! A list of approved clubs will come out in next week’s newsletter to ensure you can see the options available for our kids to join! Please hang the list of approved clubs in a visible area in each class so students are aware of their options, as sign ups will occur at lunch and time is limited.
LGA Spaghetti Feed
LGA is hosting a fundraiser spaghetti feed with the purpose of earning money for the senior class for events such as prom, senior trip, and graduation. Come to the first ever LGA Spaghetti Feed on September 30th and enjoy a prepared dinner service with entertainment from some LGA student body groups. Tickets will go on sale starting mid-week and there will be a discount for pre-purchased tickets and family 4-packs at a discounted price as well. The evening will include silent auction items, student entertainment (Thank You Performing Art Department!), and a full spaghetti dinner with salad, bread and a variety of desserts. All are welcome and we encourage you to invite your friends and families.
LGA’s first ever homecoming is beginning on the week of October 17th! Our theme will be “Around the World.” School councils are choosing the areas of the world they want to represent and will be building floats to commemorate those events! We will also crown our first ever LGA-royalty and will have our first homecoming halftime show during our Powderpuff game on October 19th on the soccer field. Entrance to the event is free for staff, and will only be $3 for adults and $1 for students. Entertainment includes a halftime show by our very own powderpuff cheerleaders. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the LGA leadership program and individual class councils.
Natomas School Foundation 5K
Natomas Schools Foundation (NSF) is hosting a Natomas 5K “Run for their Future” fundraising event. What an amazing opportunity to raise funds for your individual school! School(s) will receive $10 for every adult registration and $5 for every student registration.
This fantastic fundraiser is at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016. It will begin at Inderkum High School and loop around North Natomas Regional Park. Awards will be presented to the top Natomas male and female elementary, middle and high school student finishers, as well as to the top male and female NUSD teachers or certificated staff, classified staff, and administrators.
This is a fun event for all families, friends and the Natomas community! Proceeds not redirected to schools will be used for college scholarships and for academic, art, athletic, and other school-related programs for students living within NUSD boundaries. Interested? Register by clicking here.
