NUSD Teacher Named 2024 Teacher of the Year in Sacramento County

The Natomas Unified School District (NUSD) is proud to announce that one of its teachers, Donja Harding, has been selected as one of Sacramento County’s 2024 Teacher of the Year. Harding is a teacher at Leroy Greene Academy (LGA) and has been teaching for more than 17 years. “I love teaching because it’s something that lasts a lifetime. I get to influence kids in ways that they are not only going to learn an academic skill, they also learn life lessons,” Harding says, “and in return I learn from them.”

The 6th – 12th grade history, social studies, and ethnic studies teacher says she draws from her own life experiences and other careers to help students forge their own way. The LGA teacher also encourages students to use their own life lessons to help one another, “students have things to teach, as well,” Harding explains.
